Over the years, Jordan created systems that have revolutionized lives from day one —

What started as a frugal living and budgeting hobby blog that organically grew like wildfire. From Dr. Phil to The Today Show, Good Morning America, Rachel Ray, and every media outlet in between, it’s been a wild ride of sharing Jordan’s viral, creative, and never-before-seen tips and principles with the world. This expanded into a movement that helped thousands of “Freebs” pay off millions of dollars in debt!

FUn, CHeap Or Free Blog

The newest blog on the Page Co block  brings back the art of cooking like Grandma used to do. With all the best advice to make budgeting, shopping, cooking, and storing food more joyful and practical — we’re revolutionizing the “how-to” with real, simple, and practical kitchen methods.

All our bootcamp courses, planners, meal plans, and printables bring the teaching essentials under one roof and are available to help you start living your best family life, one simple change at a time!

But How Jordan?!

I also don’t like cooking. I’m disorganized and cluttered, have diagnosed ADHD, am terrible with math and numbers, and have (what feels like some days) an endless supply of to-do’s and messes that I never have time to get to. And yet…we paid off $15K debt on a $31k income (in 13 months, mind you) and are financially free to this day. My meals are planned, I’m running multiple businesses, my kids do chores, and still have time for myself and my family.

I’M JORDAN, AKA MAMA J, AKA THE FUN, CHEAP, OR FREE QUEEN!

1

By focusing on the pain points. Whether I’m good at budgeting or not, I have bills to pay and dreams to dream. Whether I like cooking or not, my family needs to eat, and groceries need to be shopped. Whether I have ADHD or not, I have to get my crap (pardon my french) together enough to function as a busy family of 10.

Instead of ignoring my weaknesses, or the “hard parts” of adulting, I decided to forge right into them – my way.

And it’s worked.

Okay, but what else? >

The truth? I don’t like budgeting.

2

So, I started sharing. And sharing more. And sharing more. Next thing you know, the tips, tricks, and principles that have worked for me started working for millions worldwide as well.

I started The Page Company with one mission in mind:

to help build stronger families by empowering women to take charge of their finances, productivity, cooking, and more. My goal is for you (yes, you!) to feel more satisfied and fulfilled with your life by becoming less overwhelmed, less overworked, and more proficient in the pain-point areas of your day. And yes, that’s all possible. I’m living proof.

Okay, but what else? >

It took an insane amount of hard work to get to this point. But I’m here to tell you that YOU CAN DO IT. Whatever you set your mind to or envision for your family down the road, it is possible. Our Page Co team simply provides all the info and resources you need to apply these principles in your own life — and maybe a few laughs along the way.

"

Being frugal is not about giving up everything you love. Rather, learning to get everything you love – the smart way. It's a way of living that teaches you to stop saying, “We CAN'T afford it,” and instead say, “HOW can we afford it?” This mindset, the “new frugal” mindset, has led us to have more, do more, and live more than ever before. The incredible life we live is because of how frugal we are, not in spite of it.

-Jordan Page

I’m gonna let you in on a little secret — I don’t love cooking, budgeting, or planning out my day. But I do it because I LOVE my family and know they need me to show up and give every day my absolute best.

And THIS is where the story all begins —

Our Financial Disaster (or FD for short) came on quickly. Bubba was following his entrepreneurial dream of starting his own company, we had $0 in our savings thanks to a real estate investment that went bad, and I was a new stay-at-home mom.

Quickly finding ourselves with a $10k balance on just one credit card, a car payment we could no longer afford, debt + $31k in income — you do the math; it wasn’t pretty.

We looked at each other and decided we wanted a better life for ourselves — for our kids. We were done with just getting by and started planning how we could get ahead.

We sacrificed many good things, believing it would lead to great things.

And it has!

It was stressful, but with some good old-fashioned elbow grease and a scholarship into the school of the Hard Knocks, we were able to get out of debt in just one year. We worked harder, and over the next year, we built up a cushy savings. We worked even harder for 18 more months and snagged a killer deal of a short sale that we fixed up and sold for a grundle.

My favorite part is that our journey has no end. There is no “endpoint” to frugality. It's an ever-changing, always-evolving lifestyle that keeps you on your toes and teaches you how to be truly, undeniably, incomparably, unapologetically HAPPY — regardless of how hard life gets.

Here’s a play-by-play of the little things that have helped us get to where we are now!

Five-year-old Jordan realizes that she’s been spelling her middle name “Leigh” wrong her whole life as “Lee.” Working through that trauma is still a work in progress, but I believe that we can all do hard things.

Graduated from high school and ready to hit the road! Packed up and left my little Northern Oregon town, The Dalles, for bigger horizons. Achieved my lifelong dream of attending Brigham Young University in Provo, UT. My major was Recreation Management and Youth Leadership with a Recreational Therapy emphasis…but let's call it like it is; I basically graduated Summa Cum Laude in “Social Studies” (aka dating and friends).

I can still hear “the crash” ringing in my ears. When the real estate market crashed and burned before our eyes, we saw it as an opportunity to snag some affordable real estate. We spent all of 2008/2009 saving and building a home nearby. We planned to move into the new house and keep our townhome as an investment rental property. We dumped every dime from our savings and every penny earned into building this house. What could possibly go wrong? *Forehead palm slap.*

During the building process, things started getting unsettled at Bubba’s job. We prayed hard, and both felt it was the right time for him to quit his job and follow his dream of starting his own company, Launch Leads. We felt led by God and excited for the new adventure. I had to quit my ministry job for a higher-paying sales job to support us, but we wanted to make it work. Long story short, due to the crash, the housing laws changed, and so the housing loan that we had been pre-qualified for and used to build the house...it was now off the table. We had to choose between our ENTIRE life savings that we dumped into building the house and Bubba's new business. We chose the business and lost everything we had worked toward up to that point. Defeated and penniless, we wondered why God would lead us to do something so devastating. We were embarrassed, confused, and straight-up broke."

Life got a little more complicated when we found out I was pregnant with our first baby (Hutch). We both felt the importance of my staying at home and so I began my lifelong dream of being a SAHM. Unfortunately, despite our frugal living, our credit cards (which paid our bills monthly) were piling up at an alarming rate. After sitting down one night, we realized we had $15,000 on credit cards and would barely make $31,000 in income that year. I searched for financial advice but found a bunch of uninspiring information that didn't help me with my questions like —what about groceries? Birthday parties for my kids? Eating out? Can I eat out? How much can I afford? What about the basics? Where are the lifestyle budgeting experts? I realized, “If no one is going to figure this out for me, I guess I’m going to have to figure it out myself.” And we spent the year working our tails off, and in 13 months, we had paid off ALL our debt. I still remember the day as if it were yesterday. The day we paid off the final balance on the last credit card. WE DID IT. WE DID IT! HOW THE HECK…WE DID IT!

I had been sharing some of the free or cheap activities I found on our family blogspot blog, hoping to find friends to adventure with me during the day while Bubba was working. I decided to make our family blog private; and started a public blog on a whim called FunCheapOrFree.com. I used it to share our progress, success, and tips with others. It was a little hobby blog with no hopes of grandeur. But as I started to share more personal details about not just the free or cheap things we were doing but also the nitty-gritty of budgeting and figuring out tricky finances…it took off. I began calling it “the new frugal” and became known as “The Fun Cheap or Free Queen.” We also added child #2 to the mix, our sweet little Priya Jean.

After paying off the debt, we continued to hustle to build our savings back up. We found a deal-of-a-lifetime on a gorgeous short sale in a multi-million dollar neighborhood in Draper, UT. The neighborhood was waaaaay out of our league, but we hustled and fought patiently for the house. It took 12 months (and lots of paperwork - it was a double bankruptcy, a messy divorce, and had over ten liens on the house that we had to settle) to secure and close on it. It was a deal worth being patient for. With investment help from my parents, we moved in and fixed it up. We couldn’t sell our townhome for a profit yet because of the 2008 crash, so we rented it for several years while we waited for the value to slowly climb back up.

Not only did the blog continue to grow, but so did our family. We added Beck, and Daivy, to the clan…all while my blog organically grew like wildfire. Local TV shows started calling. Then national TV shows started calling. I started a YouTube channel and Instagram page to help share more content with the world. Check out my As Seen On page for some of my favorite segments.

Since starting my blog, I have worked with clients 1:1 to help and consult them with budgeting. That grew into a group class. Which grew into a small conference (“Frugality Boot Camp”). Which grew into a big conference (renamed “Budget Boot Camp”). Which grew into a huge conference. I decided to put it all into a digital course, so people didn’t have to be away from their families for an entire day to learn my principles. From there, The Page Company was born for all you mamas and families out there! Between my envelope budget system, Budget Planner, and tons of free budgeting content on the site, I’ve loved changing the standard for family finances!

We sold our short sale for a huge profit (after paying back my parent’s investment, which helped them retire early, woo hoo!), allowing us to move to our forever dream home nearby in Draper. It was another deal of a lifetime that had been on the market for years. What can we say — we love the ones with potential! Shortly after moving in, we added cute Mory, baby number 5 (in 6 years, yikes!), to our family.

With our savings goals being met, and after paying off our house, we continued living a frugal lifestyle (living off of tight budgets and making financial sacrifices) to work toward our next goal — buying a cabin we could use for work and play. We found a cabin that just SCREAMED, “Pages, buy me!” It was an abandoned dude ranch that had been on the market for 12 years. It had loads of potential (there’s that word again) and was extremely complicated. Perfect. We put in an offer and waited.

This was a BIG year! Not only were we surprised by a glorious global pandemic (sarcasm intended), but also surprised when our “last baby,” lucky number 7, actually became babies 7 AND 8! My dream of getting twins came to be as we welcomed Joss and Devereux to the world. They were healthy, adorable, and we were all instantly smitten.

Also, in 2020, we aimed to help families across the globe pay off $1 million in debt with our million-dollar debt challenge. We felt the world could use some Freebs Nation encouragement in this time of financial worry and global unrest. And talk about blowing us out of the water! Not only did our community crush that $1 million goal within the first few days, but they ended up paying off over $102 million in debt in 2020. *CUE TEARS*

And that’s the story of how The Page Company got started. We can’t wait to see what the next decade holds in store!

"

“You can do it all… just not all at once. The real secret comes down to doing what you need to do more efficiently, so you can do what you want to do, more frequently.”

-Jordan Page

How did you become the Fun, Cheap, or Free Queen?

During our FD (Financial Disaster), I found a gaping void online in terms of finding someone I could relate to, someone who knew what it felt like to have 5 babies in 6 years and feel the stress of choosing between new socks or an extra box of cereal. Sure, I could learn how to pay off my house and put money into a (non-existent) 401K or find coupons to clip that I had no interest in clipping. But how do I know how much to pay for groceries? Or how to look classy, feel beautiful, and stay fashionable on an actual budget? Or how to talk about money without wanting to kill each other? Or where to start when your finances are on the brink of disaster?

I rolled up my sleeves and figured it out by diving into what I call Family Finance; the real deal, meat and potatoes, grit and dirt reality of how a family spends money…and how to do it right. We created terms. Programs. Principles. Rules. Standards. And most importantly, a new way of living.

It worked. And fast.

Along the way, we learned the value of being scrappy and entrepreneurial. We realized the world wasn't going to hand us any success in life; it would have to be earned through hand-to-hand combat. Five businesses, 2 houses, 8 kids, and thousands of posts worth of trial and error later, we take pride in being a direct result of the truth that you CAN live the life of your dreams on any budget.

Why so much focus on the fam?

I am obsessed with motherhood. Addicted to it. (But don't worry, I'm successfully fighting the urge to be the next Octomom…so far!) I feel that in a world where children are often viewed as a burden that slows us down or hinders us from “bigger” things, I find no greater joy than being a mom and raising these precious little people to be the best big people ever…and find no job in the whole world as important. *sentimental tear*

What's a Freeb?

A Freeb is the loveable name we coined for someone who becomes my new virtual BFF — by following along and practicing all the mom tips on all our channels, but mostly funcheaporfree.com! Psst — if you’ve made it this far in the bio, you just happen to be our newest inductee! Welcome to the FCF family!

How can I get connected with the Page family?

See what me and my fam are up to on a daily basis! I’ll throw in frugal hacks, budgeting tips, food ideas, cute babies, slobbery puppies, and MUCH much more.

Whether he's mountain-biking with friends, hiking with the family, or helping other entrepreneurs, you can easily keep up with Bubba on Instagram and LinkedIn!
